Ergonomics
Schools and colleges gain many advantages by choosing ergonomic furniture:
Sebel seating systems can provide an inclined desk surface above elbow height,
with lumbar support which maintains lordosis.
Does
it make a difference?
BBC's Watchdog healthcheck programme researched the impact of poor
classroom furniture. Their research highlighted the many shortcomings of the
furniture used by themajority of schools to-day, and attributed much adult back
injury to the poor seating they had used in their youth. They also produced
the frightening statistic which estimated that 25% of children already suffer
with back problems.
SEBEL FURNITURE commissioned a three year report, surveying over 13,000 pupils,
to gain a deeper understanding of ergonomics, with a special focus on children's
needs.
